It's been a busy week so far! Of course, work takes up the majority of the day. Monday was pretty light--just a run in the late evening. Then Tuesday night, Ben and I volunteered at a homeless shelter in downtown SLC. That was really neat. Last night, I went visiting teaching and running. Tonight was spent working on Ben's birthday present (his birthday is Sunday). While I did that, Ben went to a car dealership and test drove a car. No, he's not buying a car. Rather he drove the car in exchange of two race car track tickets. We'll go do that (just watch; not race cars) probably some time next month. And he also won a free Lagoon pass to give to someone else since we already have our season passes. All that for just test driving a car. And probably a really pitch-y car salesman. Tomorrow, we'll probably take it a little easier. I'm gonna treat him to frozen yogurt, per his request, after work. Then we'll eat dinner, maybe go for a run, and go to this one spot that has a really great view of the city.
I'll wait before I update you on the weekend plans.
I'm loving my life here in Utah. I sure do miss my family and hometown, but I've been very blessed in my almost two months here.

Serving at Homeless Shelter
Ben and I served dinner to about 300 homeless men tonight at a homeless shelter downtown. I've never done anything on such a large scale like that before. It's humbling to consider how any one of us could be destitute like these men, especially in our recession. I'm so grateful for my job and temporal conveniences.

What's Going On
Yesterday:
- Ben and I volunteered to help in the Nursery at church.
- I hung out with my friends, the Edwards', and we played the card game, Rook. It was my first time playing--pretty fun!
- Volunteering with Ben tonmorrow at a homeless shelter.
- Visiting teaching on Wednesday.
- Preparing Ben's birthday present (his birthday is Sunday).
- Exercising as much as possible.
- Trying to lose weight (again) on the Slimfast diet (again). I haven't been as active since moving here, and so I've put on some pounds. Ah, well.
- Celebrating Ben's birthday on Saturday.

Moment By Moment: Quotations by Leaders of the Church
The video below this post mentions the following quotes. I find them lovely and inspiring.
"Moments are the molecules that make up eternity."
Elder Neal A. Maxwell
"It's not so much the major events as the small day-to-day decisions that map the course of our living.
President Gordon B. Hinckley
"Diligently doing the things that matter most will lead us to the Savior of the world."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

The Latest
Highlights from this week:
- Ben and I finally kicked it back into gear and started working out again. We made it three days in a row: Tuesday-Thursday. We will try to be more consistent.
- My visiting teachers came Tuesday night. It's nice to be getting to know my new ward better.
- I got out of the office almost all day Wednesday. My supervisor and I attended a social media conference in Salt Lake City. The conference was alright, but even better, I got to see an old classmate from college who I hadn't seen for over four years! It was a very pleasant surprise to see him and catch up a little.
- I bought a pretty ring from Kohl's after work today. Ben occasionally gets these $10 off cards to Kohl's in the mail, and he gives them to me. I didn't have to pay anything for the ring; the card took care of it all!
- Tomorrow, Ben, a couple of our friends, and I are having a mid-morning breakfast together, and then heading off for a day's trip to Lagoon. We plan on doing the regular park AND the water park. Should be fun!
Also, I just heard this song, and really like it: Bliss' Kissing.

I'm Feeling Better! And Weekend Plans
I am so happy to report that I am doing a LOT better. I went to instacare on Wednesday. The night before was terrible. I couldn't sleep. My throat killed. I felt nauseous. It was terrible. Ben took me, and they tested me for strep throat, and thank goodness, it came back negative. That day I started feeling better anyway, and have been improving ever since. Right this instant, my throat doesn't hurt at all, but probably will as the day goes on. But it is a vast improvement to what it was.
Ben, too, is feeling a lot better. He had this illness longer and worse than I, but was there for me through my pain and agony. He cooked for me, helped me walk when I was super weak, bought me a single-stem red rose, and much more. I'm so grateful for him.
This weekend proves to be a busy one. Last night, Ben and I had a spontaneous double date with my best friend and her husband. We ate dinner at Costa Vida, went up to a beautiful canyon area, drove up to an amazing view of Bountiful, bought ice cream at the supermarket, and ate it while watching a movie. So fun! Doing a BBQ for lunch today with Ben and another couple. Then I have a baby shower to go to for Ben's sister-in-law. Need to go to the store later. Also doing a Halo video game tournament tonight with Ben and some of his family and friends. I'll not dominate. In fact, I'll stink. Should be interesting. Ben's been teaching me a little bit here and there, so I just might be able to hold my own for five minutes, but I'm not holding my breath.
Tomorrow's Sunday. Going to church. Also having a get-together with Ben's family and friends tomorrow night.
So glad we're both feeling better so we can get back to normal life and having fun again!
Hope you have a great weekend!
