McCombs, Just the Way You Are, and Expressions of Love

That picture I mentioned in the last post of Bishop McCombs and me at the airport:

Ben and I are just getting back into the routine of things around here after our vacation. Here are a couple of videos that you can enjoy!

Tender Mercies at the Airport

Ben and me in the airport yesterday.

Well, Ben and I are back in SLC, and back to the usual grind. I'm here at work playing catch-up, and working on some other projects.

Again, Ben and I had such a great time on our vacation. It was so nice to not have any responsibilities, and to relax and have fun with my family.

We experienced some tender mercies at the airport yesterday. First, I got to chat for a few minutes with one of my favorite people--a former singles ward bishop, Max McCombs. He was actually on the same flight to SLC with us. It was great to catch up with him. Ben even took a picture of us! I'll have to post that some time soon. The other tender mercy: when Ben and I booked our flights in June for this trip, there were no more adjacent seats left, so we knew going into it that we wouldn't sit next to each other. But once we got onto the plane, a nice older gentleman (who coincidentally happened to be on our flight from SLC to home last Thursday), asked Ben if he wanted to switch seats with him so that we could sit next to each other. Awww! It was such a little thing, but still a testimony that God is aware of us and our desires.

Hope you're having a great start to your week!

Everything Must Come to an End

Tonight is my last night on my vacation; feeling kind of blue. But it's been such an enjoyable time. I'm very grateful to Heavenly Father for allowing Ben and I to make this trip, and to be safe and have fun while in the thick of it. I love my family, and it's been so wonderful to spend so much time with them these last few days.

Today, Ben and I attended my old singles ward, and that was nice. Then we just chilled and played games the rest of the day.

He and I leave early tomorrow afternoon back to Salt Lake City. Back to the grind!

Hole in One!

Me putting an "extreme golf" hole.

I've been having the best vacation here at home.

Yesterday, a bunch of us went up to Lake Tahoe. We first went to Sand Harbor, and played in the sand, surf, and sun! Then we went to Kings Beach for a Steamers lunch and Kings Beach mini golf. I had the biggest calzone I've ever seen, and I didn't do too shabby at mini golf, either. I came in second behind my mom. For the record, I scored a hole in one.

Today, I spent lots of time with my family just hanging out, a little shopping, and whole lot of good eating.

This little trip has been so fun and worthwhile. Ben and I are having such a great time.

There's No Place Like Home

I'm home!!!!

Dorothy was SO right. There really is no place like home. I'm so happy to be here with my family and with Ben. Playing with nephews, strolling through a park, froyo, and movie-watching are the activities that comprised this day. Looking forward to a good night's rest so that we can all enjoy Lake Tahoe tomorrow.
